The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know Is Possible by Charles Eisenstein is a beautiful book I feel came to me at the right time. I think part of this book’s magic is that it will impart this feeling to any reader, and it is just marvelous. This book should be on every school curriculum.
Charles places the current sociological and ecological crises we are experiencing as a result of us living in the age of separation. Seeing us (humans, animals, forests, seas etc.) as separate identities has led to a viewpoint of scarcity and an actual life mirrored in this scarcity. We are afraid of a scarcity of money, resources, love, connection, community to name just a few. This is the desolate world of dimishing resources and sense of community we currently face. Charles provides a refreshing antidote to the hopelessness of our current situation. He calls upon a new story; one of interbeing. This story, strongly aligned with many spiritual concepts, provides a thought provoking alternative, allows for a shift in perception, enabling a new way of being in harmony with each other and our planet and living in tune with a new story.
This book guides you through your doubts and fears regarding a new way of being and takes you by your hand, soothing your soul with magical words which are astonishingly clear and perceptive given the tremendous undertaking this book sets out to achieve. This book provides a glimpse into an alternative lifestyle and thought style which many of us hope to achieve. It is within each of us to achieve this and by shifting narrative / perspective we can not only improve life for us individually, but also for the planet and the future of humanity.
If there is one book you will read this year, this is it! It is a gem. I’m giving copies to friends quicker than i could finish reading it. Please let me know what you thnk of it in the comments.
